House holding

This section originated from the need to consider all the functions that typically go on in and around a dwelling. This spans the gamut from initial construction to all the subsequent functions. Some of these activities have at various times been considered to be 'women's work'- cooking and baking, for example. And yet, if you look from commercial, community, and historic perspectives, this is by no means the case.
One of the themes that keeps driving in the background of my writings is the need to abstract the fundamentals from each facet of life; and figure out a way to incorporate that in a plan for self-sufficiency and sustainability regardless of what may occur. So I describe things as they were, as they are, and as they interrelate. But I don't feel I can afford the luxury of assuming that this is how they will continue.
3/26/12; as I continue with this section, I have to laugh. 'House holding' has now grown from 'dwelling space' and 'heating your space' to also include 'water sources and plumbing' and 'waste management'. It is not that I am telling you 'How To'; rather that I want to offer some resources for planning and solution to problems.
